When the Pauline was converted to a "Passenger Carrying Vessel" USCG Subchapter "T", the hull lines were taken by a firm in Wiscasset ME. This was done because the drawings and calculations required by the Coast Guard pretty much require the hull lines to do them properly. The Jacob Pike and the Mary Anne are sister ships to the Pauline. The "lines" are considered the "same". Basically, they are all the same "model", or based on the same half-model.
The Pike is going to be hauled this coming Fall, and the museum is going to have the lines taken off her by a couple off guys using a laser transit. This will produce a 3-D drawing, as well as the 2-D drawings. We really want to "compare" and confirm that the Pike is the same as the Pauline.
Now, some people say the Pike is a foot shorter and some say she's a foot wider. This can be confirmed quite easily. The biggest difference between the vessels is the pilot house and the location and size of the fish holds. Deck hardware is in different locations as well. Also, the Pike was a single engine, but twin screw.

These differences will be recorded and drawn, so the Pike drawings will be "the" Jacob Pike. I wouldn't feel good about the drawings until this has been done.
I want to get started measuring things on the Pike, and start talking with Dynamite about offering a set of plans for her.
Start with pilothouse differences, deck layout, etc. Work my way down. We can confirm the length/beam right off the bat. We should have enough work done so that by this Fall, when we get confirmation on the hull, we'll be ready to go.
