 Post subject: Gloucester Gull model, part 3

Last time, we figured out what scale was appropriate, and started making cardboard 2x4s for the rails of the ladder back frame... Here's the rail layout. I was very careful to align these.

As for the mold construction... I simply laid out the scaled plans and glued up the molds right on top of the plans. Once that was done, I simply trimmed to an accurate fit.

Placing another copy of the plans against the rails let me lay out the placement of the molds. Note the location and orientation of the base of each mold. The end of the base of each mold is denoted by a large "X".

Finally, I was careful to keep everything aligned relative to the baseline (the dark reference line centered between the rails.)
