Here are some shots of the cartopper... The scale is 1:27 and the guy made out of pipe cleaners is me at about 5'6"...







A quarter is included for scale.

Hey Alan, it looks like you found a way to make a pretty accurate model without buying model wood or ripping your own. I want to model the cartopper this winter, hope I can do the sailing version as shown in "Instant Boatbuilding...".

I like the model, but it looks like your pipe cleaner guy was using the wrong arm on the slide of his trombone

Thanks! I used to build model planes and gliders, so I don't have an excuse for not doing a better job... I just like to see the sheer, proportions, deadrise, beam, layout etc. As for models, so far I've built the Diablo, SurfMaster 19, CarTopper, Gypsy, and the Gloucester Gull... All to the same scale... I've learned a lot... (I just use throwaway cardboard.)

I gotta tell you...The lines on the CarTopper are pretty sweet...
